Neil Ward - Active8 Multi-Sports

Neil Ward

Founder and Owner

I am the founder and owner of Active8 Multi-Sports, with a lifelong passion for sport and physical activity. From an early age, I recognised the positive impact sport can have, shaping skills and values that stay with you for life.

I hold Level 2 coaching qualifications in Football, Rugby, Athletics, Swimming and Orienteering, and later qualified as a secondary PE teacher. I have dedicated my career to working with children with SEND and am currently Headteacher at Amwell View, a role I have held for the past four years.

Alongside my education career, I have founded and co-founded two charities focused on providing sporting opportunities for individuals with learning and physical disabilities. One of these organisations was honoured with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2017 at Buckingham Palace.

My passion for high-quality sport led me to establish Active8 Multi-Sports, where I am committed to providing 8–11 year olds with a wide range of engaging, fun, and professionally delivered sporting experiences. I recognised the importance of giving children the opportunity to learn skills across a variety of sports before moving into secondary school, without the need to commit to a single activity for an entire day.

Sport has always been a huge part of who I am. I am a passionate cricketer and had the honour of representing Hertfordshire last summer, alongside playing locally for Hertford Cricket Club. I am also heavily involved in football, playing for my local team, Bengeo Trinity FC.

I am incredibly excited to be part of Active8 and can’t wait for the camp to start. I’m looking forward to working with the children, helping them develop their skills, build confidence, and most importantly, have fun in a positive and supportive environment.
